Here we show you how to prepare the microflyer’s rudder and elevator, and how to insert the horizontal stabilizer onto your micro r/c plane. Also, watch and learn how to insert the carbon rod.

First, cut out the rudder along the hingeline and smooth out any rough spots on the foam. Then insert the horizontal stabilizer into the slots. Next, attach a carbon rod to strengthen the elevator piece. The carbon rod goes on the top side, and the control horn goes on the bottom side. Confused? Watch the video – you’ll see how it’s done! Then slide your elevator into place on the tail and get your alignment set. Use hingetape on the top side to make the hinges of the elevator. For hinge motion you want about 25-30 degrees of movement. Then attach the rudder. It is much the same process. Once it is attached check the range of motion – you want a good range of motion in both directions.
