P-51 Mustang MicroRacers Kit - Install Control Rods - episode 15
Watch this video and learn how to install control rods. The control rod connects the actuator to the control surfaces. At the actuator side we use a piece of brass z-bend which is held onto the actuator using a piece of tubing. On the side with the control surfaces we’ll use a figure four piece and heatshrink tubing. First, work the heatshrink tubing around the figure four piece. Then insert the control rode and heat up with the heat of a lighter until we observe it shrinking. The z-bend goes on the front and the figure four goes on the rear. Now we can install it on our plane. Thread the z-bend through the MicroAct, and then use the figure four to hook in through the control horn. Next, start up your receiver to make sure that your control surfaces are moving in the right direction. If they’re not, you’ll have to pull out a plug and reverse it and try again until you get it right.
