Take a look at the Butterfly and you'll see what you are paying for. The Beautifully constructed airframe is a real work of art in of itself. Study its construction and you'll be in awe. Add to it a Carbon Fiber Propeller, Swiss engineered gearbox, and tiny 4mm coreless motor - wow, I guess that's why this is the most expensive paper airplane you have ever seen eh? It's top quality produce!
Lightest R/C Receiver

The World's Lightest manufactured RC airplane needed the world's lightest R/C receiver, and that's what you get with the ready to fly Butterfly. As lightweight as it is, it still comes packed with good features, like Plantraco's Bahoma magnetic battery holder system - you can connect your cell to the airplane in about 1 second. flashing light and audible tones let you know the status of the receiver in operation - it's a purely digital reliable radio link in this no compromises airplane.
Innovative Actuator for control surfaces

The HingeAct magnetic actuator weighs only 0.22 grams, but is powerful enough to control the Butterfly with authority. The simple design is the key to its success. It is a self centering actuator, and gives you an amazing 64 steps of full proportional resolution. Why? Because we can!

Aiframe has all components installed - the model is trimmed and ready to fly out of the box - every Butterfly has a check-out flight before shipping - so you can be sure it's going to fly nicely when you receive it.

Superior handling characteristics - reliable stable handling.

HFX900 Transmitter, LP30 Battery, FMS Flight Simulator Software and cord, all packed in a metal carrying case. Nothing More to Buy.

Good for flying in any room 12' X 16' will fly with only 30% throttle. Good thrust to weight ratio (about 0.9).

This is possibly the most adjustable R/C flying model that has ever been made available. You can adjust the thrust line, wing incidence, and fuselage length near the tail. You can do this on the fly, and check the results in the air right away - probably the most learning about trimming an aircraft I have ever experienced is with our own Butterfly and you can get that same experiene out of the box!

Zoom In

This is the first RTF Livingroom Flyer product in the world. We released this one to the public in Spring of 2005, and it caused a great deal of interest, and may have sparked something big in the world of 'small'.

Up until that time, many people were thinking that livingroom R/C flying was 10 years away - at least for mere mortals. You could say that even we weren't sure entirely. We were trying to achieve it, putting all our efforts into livingroom flight, but when it happened all of the sudden it was one of the most joyous moments I have had in years. It's a long story, and I'll save that for another time. Suffice it to say that thanks to Henry Pasquet, we were able to break through our own conceptual limitations and fly through the air in a way that seemed so unlikely just a moment ago.

It all changed with the Butterfly. All of the sudden it was possible for us to make this ready to fly room flyer that anyone could enjoy. Several years later it's still one of my favorite flying models.

OK - here is some information: The Butterfly is pretty durable in most types of crashes, but if you have a 3 year-old or a cat or dog, watch out!

If some of the bones of the Butterfly get broken, don't worry, this is your chance to learn how to repair balsa sticks with a single drop of CA glue. The airframe is very easy to repair, and this repairability factor in some ways can make a balsa model superior to it's Carbon Fiber sister. Get me?

Adjustability is another big factor here. The Butterfly can be trimmed in so many ways that other planes cannot. It is a great advantage to be able to adjust the wing incidence, thrust line, and tail length in a few seconds and then take a test flight right after the adjustment. This process of trimming a Butterfly can teach you so much about flying model airframes and how they react to various changes.

Finally, I should mention that the Butterfly has been modelled for the FMS R/C flight simulator, and the included cable and your included HFX900 transmitter can enable you to run the FMS software and learn to fly R/C.

The Butterfly makes a wonderful trainer, and it's all trimmed when you receive it.

Can you tell we love this plane? You will too!
