This is the coil used in the HingeAct - For use in repairing a HingeAct when the whole actuator can not be removed.
For more information on this coil, click here.
To replace the coil in a HingeAct without removing the actuator from the plane you will need to gently twist he coil from side to side until the glue joint breaks. Be sure to support the front of the actuator. Then maneuver the coil out of the actuator without snagging the magnets. You may need to break the wires off of the coil at this point.
Then test fit the new coil in place being very careful not to scratch the sides of the new coil, this would break the windings and the coil will not work. You may need to use a small emery board to adjust the opening to make a good fit.
Then place the coil in the opening and make sure it is centered, you can fix it in place with white glue, uhu por or foam safe CA. Use a very small amount being sure not to get any glue inside the coil as this may glue you magnets to the coil and render the actuator useless.
Once the glue has set you can attach the wires from to the fuse of the plane until you get near the receiver and then solder the wires to the locations shown in THIS knowledge base article
If you actuator moves in reverse you will need to reverse the wires.
For more information regarding soldering these fine wires, please view this instructional video.
